Chicago  was produced by summer company Porthouse Theater in 2011. The show was directed by the company's Artistic Director, Terri Kent, and set as a study of the Broadway production's choreography. To facilitate this learning experience for the student ensemble, the set needed to provide a large open place for movement, but also needed to address the location-specific needs of the production. Porthouse Theater's thrust configuration aided in this layout. The set design was simple, clean, and minimalistic. Two full-height ladders on either side of the stage provided height and visual intrigue.
