Directed by Barrett Guyton

Design Team:

Set  - Holly M Breuer

Costumes - Liz Whittemore

This production toured the Eastern United States, along with two other shows, in a 14-passenger van during the Spring of 2015.

For this version of the show, the director has opted to set the piece in rural Virginia circa the mid 1800s. The goal of this change was to help make the show more accessible to our American audiences. Our approach was to create a warm, inviting and safe place without a literal location - thus allowing the performance to seamlessly transition between moments of reality and moments of the Boy's imagination. The concept asserted that in a child's world, magic can happen at any moment. I sought inspiration from period American crafts, and landed on the idea of a backdrop that was actually a quilt - this would provide an artistically represented "location" while also enveloping our playing space in the security of a blanket.
